Poly(lactide-co-trimethylene carbonate)s (PTMCLA) copolymers were synthesized by ring-opening polymerization using l-lactide (LLA) and trimethylene carbonate (TMC) as raw materials. The properties of the copolymer depend on the TMC content. In vitro degradation of copolymers was performed in pH7.4 phosphate buffered saline at 37°C. The higher the TMC content, the stronger the degradation ability of the copolymer. In addition, studies have shown that PTMCLA copolymers have extremely low cytotoxicity and good blood compatibility. Therefore, these materials are more suitable for use in biomedical fields, such as bioabsorbable sutures, implantable medical devices, tissue engineering scaffolds, and controlled release drug systems.
CD Bioparticles offers PTMCLA for solid phase drug delivery and implantable systems. In addition, we also offer PTMCLA modified with ester and hydroxyl groups. Contact us to learn how PTMCLA can help your work.
