Description | The spiking proteins of the novel corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) play an important role in virus-receptor binding, and the spiking proteins mediate receptor binding and membrane fusion. the S-protein consists of two subunits, S1 and S2, and the S1 includes the receptor-binding region (RBD), which is the region through which coronaviruses bind to the cell-surface receptor ACE2 in order to infect the cell. the S2 subunit is the "backbone" of the S-protein structure, and it contains other components required for virus fusion with the membrane. the S2 subunit is the "backbone" of the S-protein structure. The S2 subunit is the "backbone" of the S-protein structure, and it contains the other essential elements required for fusion of the virus with the membrane. Vaccines, small molecules and antibodies are being developed for pneumonia caused by the novel corona virus (SARS-CoV-2). While the development of small molecule drugs, vaccines and antibodies takes a long time, the screening of nucleic acid aptamers specific for the novel corona virus spiking protein can be used to establish a rapid and effective assay as well as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 pneumonitis. This product binds to the S1 subunit of the Spike protein. |
